I think any music that encourages violence against anyone else should be banned. I don't care about words that "offend" others. I care that many rap "songs" glorify if not encourage violence against "hoes" and cops in particular. No one should exposed to that kind of garbage. Political correctness be damned.

Rap Music That Debases Should Be “Cancelled “
by minimus ini find it interesting that we live in a cancel culture.
the influencers go after abraham lincoln, uncle ben , aunt jemima, the flag, the national anthem, people they perceive as not following their agenda.
in the midst of all of this, rap music and its dehumanizing culture are off limits to talk about.

Australia: Jehovah’s Witnesses to join redress scheme for child sexual abuse survivors

Like almost everyone knows, they only joined the redress scheme to protect their "charity" status. It's all about money, just like everything else the Borg does.
Even though they joined, and tooted their own horn for doing so, you can bet they'll fight tooth and nail over every single claim. They will almost certainly coerce, badger, and even threaten the victims to get them to give up their claim or accept a far less amount than they were entitled to. "Why would you want to take away dedicated funds that could do so much good? You are robbing Jehovah!"

It always boils down to: (1) Send money, and (2) obey whatever we tell you even if it doesn't make sense.

Has anyone contested a Will and WON????
by cha ching inmy jw mom just died last week, about 6 1/2 months after my non jw dad died (dehydration, starvation, imo) i was the executor of that will.

You may not be able to prevail if you contest the will, but you definitely can tie it up for years. Once the other parties realize this, they may be more inclined to negotiate. If found guilty of any skulduggery, they could be personally responsible for any damages you suffer. These damages would have to be paid by them personally, not out of the estate.

Assuming you believe in an all-knowing benevolent god of love, do you really think he/she/it would deny eternal life to someone based on their standing in a certain religious organization?
I don't think any all-powerful being who would do such thing would be worthy of respect, much less worship.

New-Old Light on Alternative Military Service
by Vanderhoven7 innot sure where i picked this up.
"new-old light on alternative military service.
fact 1: the watchtower sanctioned both military service and alternative military service under charles russell.. .

I know for a fact that those who refused alternative service during the years the Society forbade it did so because they would have been disfellowshipped/disassociated otherwise. They were not allowed to even hint to the judge that they would perform alternative service if sentenced to do so, and of course, couldn't agree to it in advance.
Some judges probably concluded they wouldn't comply anyway so why not just send them to prison. This led to much unnecessary suffering and later, resentment. My own cousin went through this. A very well-known poster here did as well.

Return From ISIS

I just finished watching the video. It appears that she and her sister, too, rebelled against being JWs as soon as they were old enough and just started doing their own thing. If I understood correctly, Samantha (aka Sam) has a sister who married a brother of the man Sam married, but this man didn't become radicalized like Sam's husband did. Anyway, even though Sam finally pled guilty to a terrorism-related charge, her subsequent statements reveal she's still trying to justify herself and minimize her own responsibility for what happened. The children, of course, are the true victims in this sorry tale. Fortunately, they are being taken care of and will have a fighting chance at a normal life.

No American citizen who left the country to support ISIS in any capacity whatsoever, even just as a spouse of an ISIS member, should EVER be allowed to return. Furthermore, they should be considered to have forfeited their American citizenship the moment they left. No exceptions for age or gender. There is no way we could ever trust them.
